Purpose -
Everything under the sun exists for a specific purpose; even lifeless objects such the soil or a rock. Purpose is defined as the reason for being, is the reason for existence. It is thus important for all of us to ask ourselves why we exist. Our purposes are different, simply because we have different missions in life. Because of this difference, each of us will travel different routes and employ different tools to manifest our purposes.
If purpose is the reason for our existence, it means our purpose existed before we did, and it is bigger than us. Knowing that our purpose existed before us, will help each and every one of us have an understanding that we don’t create our purpose, we don’t have to work hard to create it but to only reveal it.
Who we are is enough to manifest our purpose. Who we are is not the reason why our purpose exists, who we are is the tool through which the universe can manifest a purpose that existed long before we did. For instance, the need for transport (Purpose) existed before a Car existed. The first car created by Carl Benz and the first T-Model car invented by Henry Ford existed because there was a need for transport (Purpose), that need came before these two inventions came to surface. Another example is oppression against black people; it existed before Nelson Mandela was born. The European colonies invaded South Africa before our heroes were born in the 1800s. Our heroes existed for the sole purpose of fighting these oppressive systems, and each hero fulfilled his/her purpose to the end He/she was meant to.
Now the big question is; how do we find out what our purpose is? The answer to this question is different for all of us, how our purpose is revealed to us is different for each and every one of us. Some of us will be thrown by life to certain corners where we will pushed to find what our existence mean to us, some of us will find our purpose after a loss of a family member, or after being raped and abused by someone close to us.
Our purpose gets revealed to us through our experiences. It is thus empirically important to us that we become conscious of all experiences we go through, for the sole purpose of finding out what is it that these experiences are aiming to draw to our attention. We find our purpose on the intersection of your talents and our hardships. So, where your biggest problem meets with your talents/skills is where your purpose will be revealed.
Our purpose is not;
Our gifts or talents
Our professions or jobs
Our positions or titles
Our material possessions
All the above are mere tools and means through which materialize our purpose, they are not our purpose.
Why is it important to know your purpose?
So that you can be able to withstand the pressures of life. Without knowing the reason why we exist, will make it easy for you to give up on your life.
So that you can dedicate your time to meaning tasks.
So you can be able to invest your time and effort in being the person equipped for the manifestation of that purpose.
To can be able to see and know which people are suitable to be part of your success journey, versus those who are not suitable to form part of your success journey.
So that you can learn the art of letting go of harsh experiences that have the potential to compromise your destiny or mission in life.
So that you can be able to choose wisely the feelings and emotions that serve that purpose, versus those that will easily choke your hopes or dreams.
Can we neglect our purpose? Yes we can, life is a game of choices and with those choices come repercussion and consequences that we have to live with.
Everything that we do, our business or careers are there to help us manifest a divine purpose. We need to seek meaning in all that we do.
